Self-welding insulating tape for extreme temperatures. A cold-welding insulating tape made of polyethylene, provided with an easily peelable plastic release liner. Welds processing under slight tensile stress to a solid air- and water-tight mass, extremely stretchable (elongation at break 600 %) and conformable, permanently elastic, compatible with all materials for insulation and sheathing, exceptionally wide application temperature range, very good electrical properties (esp. dielectric strength), resistant to ozone, weathering and aging, excellent resistance to alkalis, hydraulic fluids and other chemical substances. Used in the same way as high-voltage insulating tape (CIMCO article no. 16 2840-16 2841, but with the addition of excellent resistance to very high and very low temperatures (-35°C to +95°C, up to 130°C for short periods) and to many chemicals, for demanding insulation work up to 34 kV/mm and for maintaining chemical resistance at elevated temperatures.
