The Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 is designed for starting and stopping asynchronous motors with voltages from 208V to 690V. It meets the demands of the most challenging applications in normal and heavy-duty operation. With a rated current of 1000A under normal overload, it operates motors from 250kW to 900kW depending on the network voltage. Engineered for digitalization, connected, optimized for cyber security standards compliance, it simplifies project execution and maximizes application availability. Its torque control (TCS) masters acceleration and deceleration. Thanks to dynamic braking and DC injection, applications with high inertia are handled efficiently. It can be connected in line with the motor or in star-delta configuration to reduce operational current. The embedded test routine simplifies commissioning in star-delta configuration. The dimensions are 770mm (width) x 329mm (depth) x 890mm (height), and it weighs 115kg. The Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 is designed to monitor processes, infrastructure, and industrial machines. It conforms to IEC/EN60947-4-1. It is certified according to CE, cULus, UKCA, CCC, RCM, EAC, and is marine certified according to DNV, ABS, BV, and CCS. Operator terminals, remote mounting kit, and communication modules are uniform with Altivar Drives. Line reactors, DNV kits are identical to the predecessor ATS48. ATS480 is compatible with ATS48, with the same footprint, mounting, torque control, I/O, menus... The integration of the Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 into EcoStruxure drastically simplifies the selection of architecture, the detailed design, and the execution of ventilation and electrical systems.
