The Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 is intended for starting and stopping asynchronous motors with voltages from 208V to 690V. It meets the demands of the most challenging applications in normal to heavy duty operations. With a rated current of 38A under normal overload, it operates motors from 9kW to 30kW depending on the network voltage. Designed for digitalization, connected, optimized for compliance with cybersecurity standards, it simplifies project execution and maximizes application availability. Its torque control (TCS) masters acceleration and deceleration. Thanks to dynamic braking and DC injection, applications with high inertial torque are efficiently managed. It can be connected in-line with the motor or in delta configuration to reduce the operating current. The embedded test routine simplifies commissioning in delta configuration. The dimensions are 160mm (width) x 203mm (depth) x 275mm (height) and the weight is 4.9kg. The Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 has been developed to monitor processes, infrastructures, and industrial machines. It is compliant with IEC/EN60947-4-1. It is certified to CE, cULus, UKCA, CCC, RCM, EAC, and has marine certifications from DNV, ABS, BV, and CCS. Operating terminals, remote mounting kit, and communication modules are consistent with Altivar Drives. Line chokes, DNV kits are identical to the predecessor ATS48. ATS480 is compatible with ATS48, it has the same footprint, mounting, torque control, I/O, menus... The integration of the Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 into EcoStruxure dramatically simplifies the selection of architecture, detailed design, and execution of ventilation and electrical systems.
